You're welcome. I worked last night, and hear Levy had been there. Possible for an announcement and photo op.

Thank you Mike, I'm hugely appreciative of free subscribers who share the posts more widely.

I'd like this to reach as many people as it can, it will take a mass movement to change the downward spiral. (Many western countries going through rampant exploitation of public services for private profit currently).

Dunno if you've got online stuff outside Substack, but if you do, popping a good article on there now and again is a way any free subscriber can help me get the message out.

I am so grateful for all your posts that illustrate what is happening to our health care system and your attempts to hold this government to account. As a person of limited means I cannot make paid contributions, but I restack and comment on many of your posts. Mr Levy and Dr Reti are consulate liars, able to stare into a TV camera and call black, white, without so much as a whisper of conscience. Bill Birch reborn

Thank you Gary. So appreciate your views. You have to wonder who would be fooled by this obvious shifting of the already depleted deck chairs.

Again … this is outrageous! And of course Reti is super pleased with himself - he holds a share interest in Whangarei Hospital!!!

Indeed, robbing Peter to pay Paul!

I wondered about this since Reti became Minister of Health, this conflict of interest on his part…

Speaking of self congratulations, Casey Cigarello just gave herself some on RNZ Midday Report by saying ‘we’ have achieved 80,000 people quitting smoking previously but when asked what period she had to say year22/23, so she implies ‘we’ - the coalition but when challenged has to admit that it is ‘we’ the govt - the former one. Again relying on the full picture being obscured ….until it isn’t. Got to admit she did answer the challenge honestly unlike what we see from her leader. But the continued with lies and misrepresentation.

Also unbelievably Te Whatu Ora just announced that another near 1500 jobs to go - I am speechless.

That’s a great analogy about the arsonist. Every time I see those two (and others in the coalition government), I feel a strong urge to be violent. I’m not normally like that!

I guess it’s from feeling so powerless and despondent, and I don’t even work in the public service anymore 😓

🤷Same - but what stiffens my resolve is that is what they WANT 🤬 & at the very least I'm not going to give them my surrender 😱💪

Smoke and mirrors is their go-to. The PR optics of the illusion of more funding is to capture the headlines and use at the PM's next self-congratulations summary on Newstalk. They rely of the full picture being obscured and befuddled. Thankyou for speaking out - their choice of Whangarei as ground zero was an obvious yet sly intimidation attempt.

The arsonists have struck again, setting another forest ablaze by cutting nearly 1,500 National Public Health Service and Data and Digital Health NZ positions and vacancies. And they didn’t even bother planting a single tree in their place—unless, of course, yesterday’s announcement was meant to double as a “two-for-one” deal.

These short-sighted, short-term decisions are nothing short of reckless. They will lead to more preventable deaths and leave us with an even weaker data infrastructure to track what’s actually happening. Unless, of course, the plan is to outsource to private health software companies—perhaps those conveniently tied to Reti and Levy?
