Today's Budget, and what it means for your Health system
Landlords laughing, savers cringing, and patients left... where exactly?
My commentary on:
Today’s Budget 2025 initiatives:
$81.2m this year for increased access to urgent and after-hours care, helping to reduce pressure on emergency departments
[just one more way in which privatisation will pull $ and staff from public sector. Simeon redacted this official Health NZ commentary from the OIA release, and pushed it all through ‘under urgency’ to make sure the proper analysis and costings would never get done…but it’s frankly inevitable that surgeons and anaesthetists (and now GPs leaving for urgent care) will leave public healthcare system more destabilised. But at least the Australian private equity company that owns White Cross Urgent Care chain will be happy. And wealthy. ]
