Northern Ireland's Troubles aren't Ancient History
I though it was just the 1970s &1980s. The sad reality of Irish conflict spans from the 1600s to 2024, and possibly beyond.
You can still see the murals if you drive around Belfast. Honouring the paramilitaries, the Queen, the hunger-strikers, the murdered on both sides.
And what you’ll notice is the paint is fresh, not faded. Clearly reapplied regularly. Posters freshly printed and shiny. Multi-story graphic tales funded and cared for by the community.
